Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota scored as Liverpool beat 10-man Atletico Madrid 2-0 as VAR ruled out two goals, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A good start in the first half of the encounter which saw good opportunities coming from both ends in 45 minutes that was filled with so much drama.
The first few minutes were evenly matched coming from Liverpool and Atletico Madrid who gave it all their possible best but nothing happened.
Diogo Jota opened the goal scoring in the 13th minute of the first half of the encounter after good teamwork saw Trent Alexander Arnold helping out to make the scoreline 1-0.
It progressed with more coming from both ends as they continue to push harder which saw Sadio Mane making it 2-0 for the English Premier League side with an assist from Trent Alexander Arnold once again.
Things got worst for the visitors in the 39th minute of the game as Felipe was shown a straight red card that left his side to complete the remainder of the match with 10-man.
Nothing happened as the first half ended with Liverpool taking a healthy 2-0 advantage into the break against Atletico Madrid.
Second Half Report
The second half was filled with so many talking points as VAR once again was surrendered with so much controversy after two calls for goals were canceled.
Diogo Jota scored in the 48th minute of the second half for Liverpool, but unfortunately,y it was ruled out after VAR reviewed the goal and canceled it.
Things were looking good for the Premier League side who continued with their dominance until Luis Suarez scored in the 57th minute which VAR ruled out too.
Both teams carried on with Atletico Madrid unable to make anything happen as they were two goals down and one man short against their opponent.
The game carried on until the referee ended things with Liverpool 2-0 Atletico Madrid which saw the Premier League side taking another three points.
