Cristiano Ronaldo is now the UEFA European Championships’ all-time top scorer after his goals against Hungary at Euro 2020, MySportDab reports. 

Ronaldo scored his 10th and  11th goal in the match at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

He is now ahead of Michel Platini.

Another record is that Ronaldo has scored goals in five different European Championships.

His first appearance in the Euros was in the opening group match of Euro 2004 against Greece.

Now, Ronaldo wants to score more goals to help his team retain their Euros title won in France in 2016.

At 36, Ronaldo scored twice after the 87th minute in Portugal’s 3-0 win against Hungary, in front of a 61,000 thousands fans in Budapest.

This was Portugal’s first match at the current Euro 2020, with a good and positive result.

Ronaldo first scored a penalty before scoring again from a brilliant a team move.

Portugal Coach Fernando Santos has said that he is satisfied with a 3-0 win over Hungary in their Group F opener.

In front of 61,000 fans at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary’s defensive prowess kept Portugal at bay for a long time until the closing stages of the second half.
