Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos both scored as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-0 in the El Classico derby to move top on the league table, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was all about Los Blancos in the first half of the match as they made good use of their opportunities by scoring two goals.
Real Madrid opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Karim Benzema who teamed up with Lucas Vazquez to scored a beautiful goal which made it 1-0.
Barcelona were reckless and couldn’t get control of the game as it progressed with them getting so much pressure from the home side who were good.
Toni Kroos made it 2-0 in the 28th minute after which he curled a direct free kick inside the back of the net beating the wall and the goalkeeper.
The first half of the encounter ended with Real Madrid 2-0 Barcelona as they both headed for the break with advantage to the home side.
Second Half Report
The second half of the encounter was different as Barca were more cautions in their approach towards the game as the game processed.
Barcelona were able to pull one goal back in the 60th minute through Oscar Mingueza who was assisted by Jordi Alba to make it 2-1 in the match.
Real Madrid was poor going forward as they couldn’t find any way to increase their lead which becomes an issue as they also had to defend deep while attacking.
The game went on without any goal action which the two sides were creating wasteful opportunities that couldn’t result into a goal as they entered into the last few minutes.
Casemiro was shown a late red card, but it didn’t prove anything as the match ended with Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona which sees Zidane side claiming a Derby win.
