OMG! Ozil Offers To Pay Arsenal Mascot Gunnersaurus Wages

Ozil have decided to pay Arsenal mascot Gunnersaurus wages after the club want him to go, MySportDab reports.

The mascot has been with the Club for 27 years and they have decided to let him go of his job.

German midfielder Ozil have took the responsibility of making sure he remains at the Emirates as he have decided to pay his wages.

Jerry Quy was relieved of his mascot duties at Emirates Stadium at the start of the week due to non availability of fans.

Quy became a much-loved figure at Arsenal after donning the famous dinosaur suit in 1993 before the arrival of Arsene Wenger.

He has now become the latest victim to lose his job due to the coronavirus pandemic which have put the club in financial crisis.

Arsenal legend Paul Merson has been among those to express his disappointment after the decision with Gunnersaurus.

He Said:

“Unbelievable. All them kids, the Junior Gunners, there will be 30 and 40-year-old fans who have grown up with that dinosaur.

“It’s disappointing, I think it’s poor by Arsenal, I really do.”

Ozil Also Said:

“I was so sad that Jerry Quy aka our famous & loyal mascot Gunnersaurus and integral part of our club was being made redundant after 27 years,” the Arsenal midfielder wrote on Twitter.

“As such, I’m offering to reimburse Arsenal with the full salary of our big green guy as long as I will be an Arsenal player.”
