Julian Alvarez scored as Manchester City came from behind to beat Sevilla 3-1 to finish as top of their group, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The first half of the game wasn’t a good one for Pep Guardiola and his players who couldn’t make anything of much happen going forward.

Manchester City started so well going forward but despite all the opportunities that was created, nothing was made out of everything.

Sevilla held on fine from their end as they also did create something of their own and just like their opponent, they couldn’t make anything happen as the game continued.

Rafa Mir gave the away side the lead in the 31st minute of the encounter after a wonderful effort saw them making sure they put their opportunity to good use as it turned 0-1.

That goal was the only tangible event in the match which saw Sevilla heading into the break with a 0-1 advantage against Manchester City who was the better of both teams after 45 minutes.

Second Half Report

The second half started with the home side pushing forward more knowing they need to make a comeback before looking for the lead in the encounter.

Manchester City wasted no time in coming back level into the match in the 52nd minutes of the game through a goal scored by Rico Lewis who was able to make it 1-1.

Sevilla continued to do everything from their end to ensure they are able to restore their lead as the match carried on approaching the one hour mark.

Kevin De Bruyne wonderful delivery saw Julian Alvarez finishing off neatly in the 73rd minute of the game to make it 2-1 in favor of the home team.

Riyad Mahrez made it 3-1 in the 83rd minute of the game through a clinical finish which saw the Algerian making it count for themselves.

The match ended with Manchester City claiming a 3-1 win against Sevilla after 90 minutes of football played at the Etihad Stadium in England.
