Lionel Messi has slammed Barcelona in his emotional goodbye message to former teammate Luis Suarez, MySportDab reports.
Luis Suarez has left Barcelona to join La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.
Some weeks ago, Messi was in a transfer saga with Barcelona as the 33-year-old tried to leave the Spanish club for free.
The Argentine later decided to stay at the club and avoid a legal battle with Barcelona.
However, Barcelona decided to allow Luis Suarez to leave the club after new boss Ronald Koeman said the Uruguayan was not part of his plans.
Suarez and Messi have been close friends for a long time both on and off the pitch at Barcelona since his transfer in 2014 from Liverpool.
Now, Lionel Messi used Instagram to say his goodbye to his friend, before slamming Barcelona.
‘I was already thinking about the idea but today I realised it is reality,’ he wrote.
‘I can’t begin to imagine how difficult it is to not continue sharing each day with you, both at home and work.
‘It will no doubt be strange to see you play for another club and even play against you.
‘You deserved to be given an opportunity as one of the most key players in Barcelona’s history, who has achieved many things.
‘And now you get kicked out like this. But sincerely at this point nothing surprises me.
‘I sincerely wish you all the best. I love you, I love you too much. See you very soon friend.’
On Thursday, Luiz Suarez said goodbye to Barcelona after six years at the Nou Camp.
Suarez broke down in tears while with team-mates Messi, Sergio Roberto, Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique, and Sergio Busquets.
Suarez’s exit was met with rumours of a move to Juventus to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at the Serie A club.
But a lot has happen and his move to Juventus was not successful due to Serie A strict rules.
Atletico Madrid decided to sign the striker, with Diego Simeone a fan of the former Barcelona man.
