‘£700 Million Release Clause An Error’ – Lionel Messi And Father Issue Statement
Messi and his father has come out to make a statement saying the player £700 million release clause was an error by laliga, MySportDab reports.
The player and his father have insisted that the release clause ended at the end of the 2019/2020 season.
It means he can leave for free to anywhere he wants to leave after last season’s campaign with Barcelona.
According to them, there is no existing £700 million release clause on the Lionel Messi contract as of now.
Barcelona on the other hand have refuse to what the player and his father said as they are holding on to him.
In The Statement Messi Said:
“We do not know which contract they [Liga] have analysed, and which are the bases on which they conclude that it would have a termination clause.
“applicable in the event that the player decides to urge the unilateral termination of the same”
Jorge and Leo are denying the existence of a €700m release clause as he wants to leave for free.
Barcelona have also made it clear that the player won’t leave for free until the end of the new season.
The saga continues and we are yet to confirm if Lionel Messi will stay or leave for Manchester City.
