Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard has confirmed that Christian Pulisic needs six weeks to recover from his hamstring injury, MySportDab reports.

Pulisic has impressed in his first season with Chelsea after his transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old was very crucial for the Blues after the coronavirus lock down period.

With the new English Premier League season expected to start on September 12th, Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard has admitted Pulisic May not be ready in time.

‘With Pulisic I think it’s its difficult to say for him about the start of the new season,’ said Lampard.

‘We’re looking at around six-week out. So six weeks from now, its very close, and is probably after the start of the new campaign.

‘But we have to treat the injury seriously.’

Pulisic has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists this season at Chelsea.

However, Frank Lampard has hailed the winger for such a successful start to his Stamford Bridge career.

‘In terms of Christian, when he looks at his first season, his improvement since coming here when you consider the goals and assists he’s got already this year, it’s the best in his career,’ added Lampard.

‘And this is his first season in the Premier League.

‘he should be happy with his improvement and that’s thanks to his hardwork.

‘So we want him fit again and match ready. If he misses some matches of the new season, then we can hope to have him firing again like he’s done for the restart.’

Captain Cesar Azpilicueta also suffered a hamstring injury in Chelsea’s FA Cup final defeat, but he will recover than Pulisic.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N’Golo Kante are both fit to play against Bayern Munich in Saturday’s Champions League Last-16 second leg.

Chelsea also travelled with academy players such as Dynel Simeu, Armando Broja, Lewis Bate and Henry Lawrence to Munich.
