Blues head coach Liam Rosenior reveals a tense conversation with Wesley Fofana over his display during the Manchester United match, which saw him storm off after being substituted.

Chelsea suffered another defeat, which piled up their horrible form this season under their new head coach, Liam Rosenior.

The loss against Manchester United was the fifth in six Premier League games, which put their chances of European football next season in doubt.

Chelsea are expected to return to action when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday as they bid to bounce back to winning ways.

Of late, the decision-making hasn’t been cool with Enzo Fernandez being suspended for two games following his interview talking about Real Madrid.

Wesley Fofana might be counting himself lucky as the Chelsea head coach seems to have taken his apologies to the heart.

The French defender has been a huge part of the Rosenior era, playing more often than others despite returning from a long injury.

During the 81st minute of play against the Red Devils, the Frenchman stormed off the pitch when being replaced by the Chelsea head coach.

Fofana appeared to storm down the tunnel, ignoring his head coach and staff in the process.

After the whole incident, Rosenior had to come out and clear the air following his press conference, which took place earlier today, Monday, where he confirmed the apology.

Despite several wrong calls and errors by the defender, he continues to get the backing of the Chelsea head coach.

Rosenior said: “Wes is a very emotional character in a good way. I love him.

“As a guy, he’s not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. I’ve spoken to him about it, and he’s just disappointed that we’re losing the game.

“I think he could have shown that emotion in a better way, and that’s something that I’ve spoken about, but the optics on that are not the reality.

“The reality is I’ve got a really good group. They are working really, really hard for me and for the staff and for the club.

“At the moment, the results aren’t going that way, and then people start reading more into it than what it actually is.

“Wes apologised for his reaction, but these are young players who are going to make mistakes in the moment.

While Wesley Fofana has the full support of Liam Rosenior, his actions did not speak highly of him after storming off during a critical time.

The defender’s name has also been linked with those expected to leave Stamford Bridge when the summer transfer window opens for business.
