Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich move is now off following Chelsea’s drastic U-turn on their decision to loan out the player, MySportDab reports.
We reported earlier Bayern Munich and Chelsea were through on agreement for a deal to have Jackson switch to the Bundesliga champions on a season-long loan deal.
Jackson traveled to Germany for his medical and completion of the move, but will now return to England to continue with the Blues.
According to David Ornstein, Chelsea made the drastic U-turn to call off the loan deal following injury to new signing from Ipswich Town Liam Delap.
Liam Delap went off with an apparent hamstring issue in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham in Premier League early kickoff today.
Sources close to the club reveal the Blues risk losing the player on a long-term injury following the blow, leaving them with depleted options on the attack.
It is to this effect they have decided to call off the planned loan deal with Bayern Munich for Nicolas Jackson. Jackson fell out of favour in Enzo Maresca’s attacking options for this season following the Blues’ reinforcements in the attack.
Jackson scored 14 goals plus five assists in 35 Premier League appearances for Chelsea on his debut season.
Last season, he managed 10 goals plus five assists in 30 appearances. He will be expected to play key role in Maresca’s attacking options this season following Liam Delap’s blow.
