Al Hilal produced a stunning extra-time upset to eliminate Manchester City from the FIFA Club World Cup, winning 4-3 in a pulsating last-16 clash in Orlando, MySportDab Reports.

The defeat ends Pep Guardiola’s perfect FCWC record and City’s hopes of retaining their crown.

The European champions took an early lead in controversial fashion. Bernardo Silva tapped home after Ilkay Gundogan blocked a clearance into his path, sparking protests from Al Hilal players following a quick VAR check for handball.

City dominated the first half, but Yassine Bounou stood tall, making brilliant saves to deny Haaland, Savinho, and Doku.

Al Hilal roared to life after the break. Marcos Leonardo scrambled in the equaliser before Malcom stunned City with a breakaway finish, giving the Saudi side a 2-1 lead just seven minutes into the second half.

Haaland quickly restored parity, slamming home after a corner wasn’t cleared.

Chances flowed as both sides searched for a winner. Ali Lajami’s last-ditch clearance denied Haaland a late goal, sending the match to extra time.

Kalidou Koulibaly then rose highest to head in from a Rúben Neves corner, but Phil Foden equalised again with a superb first-time finish from Rayan Cherki’s cross.

In a dramatic 113th minute, Ederson parried a Sergej Milinkovic-Savic shot, but Leonardo pounced on the rebound to grab his second and seal a famous win.

Al Hilal now advance to face Fluminense in the quarter-finals, while Manchester City crash out in one of the most thrilling matches in recent Club World Cup history.
