PSG have suffered a shock in their second FIFA Club World Cup match, MySportDab reports.

The reigning European and French champions went into the off the back of an impressive 4-0 victory over European rivals Atletico Madrid in the opening.

Goals from Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Mayulu, and Lee Kang-in’s penalty saw the team put the La Liga giants to rout. They were expected to continue on their dominant run going into this match.

Botafogo opened their FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders.

Goals from Cunha and Igor Jesus saw the Argentine giants see off the MLS club to secure all three points.

Against PSG, they were largely seen as underdogs given their opponents’ command of depth and quality.

However, at the Rose Bowl on Thursday night, the 2024 Copa Liberatores champions pulled one of the biggest upset in the competition.

Notably, PSG dominated the game from the start to finish, wielding 75% of possession, firing 16 shots with two on target.

Botafogo, with their paltry 25% possession, managed just four shots with all four on target.

One of the attempts by Igor Jesus saw the team took an unlikely lead in the 36th minute.

And this goal made all the difference as they soak up the pressure and ran out with a shock a 1-0 win over the Ligue 1 giants.

This victory means Renato Vaiga’s side have secured qualification for the knockout of the competition, having won their first two matches.

They will wrap up their group stage fixtures against Atletico Madrid while PSG take on Seattle Sounders.
