Manchester City Make Contact to Sign Pedro Neto From Chelsea

Manchester City have reportedly made contact over a possible move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, adding another interesting story to the summer transfer window.

While no official agreement has been reached, reports suggest City are exploring the conditions of a deal as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the new Premier League season.

Pedro Neto has become one of Chelsea’s most reliable attacking players since arriving from Wolverhampton Wanderers. His pace, direct style, and ability to create chances from both wings have made him an important part of the squad.

Despite the Blues valuing the Portugal international highly, growing interest from Manchester City has increased speculation about his future. Reports claim Enzo Maresca is a strong admirer of Neto after previously working with the winger.

Their existing relationship could play a role if the Manchester club decide to submit a formal offer. City are believed to see Neto as a player who can fit into different attacking roles, providing speed, creativity, and experience in the final third.

Chelsea are not under pressure to sell the 26-year-old, and any deal is expected to require a significant transfer fee before any consideration will be put in place.

Some reports have suggested that the London club could demand around £70 million before considering negotiations. Chelsea still believe Neto has an important role to play, especially after his impressive performances since joining the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano he confirmed the report saying: “Manchester City make direct contact with Pedro Neto’s camp as talks start over possible move.

“Neto among Manchester City target if Savinho goes to Spurs while he’s also understood to be on Tottenham list as backup option.

“Deal also depends on Chelsea valuation.”

For Manchester City, signing Pedro Neto would add more quality and competition in wide attacking positions which is already filled with a lot of top talent.

The club is expected to continue reshaping its squad this summer, and bringing in an experienced Premier League winger could provide extra depth for domestic and European competitions.

Neto’s ability to beat defenders, deliver dangerous crosses, and score important goals makes him an attractive option for the citizens style of play. However, completing the transfer may not be straightforward.

Chelsea are unlikely to strengthen a direct Premier League rival without receiving an offer that matches their valuation. There is also reported interest from other European clubs, meaning City could face competition if they move forward with the transfer.

At this stage, discussions remain in the early phases, and there is no confirmation that a formal bid has been submitted.

Transfer situations can change quickly, especially during the summer window, and much will depend on Chelsea’s willingness to negotiate and City’s determination to complete the signing.

If the move eventually happens, Pedro Neto move would be a massive one for Enzo Maresca. His arrival would give the manager another proven attacking weapon.

However, Chelsea would have to decide how best to replace one of their talented wingers if the move ends up happening between them and City.
