Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe could miss several matches for Real Madrid following his red card on Sunday, MySportDab reports.

In a closely contested La Liga clash against struggling Alaves, Mbappe picked up a red card for a nasty challenge on Anthony Blanco in the 38th minute.

Notably, he was initially shown a yellow card before VAR called for a review of the tackle and the decision.

After the review, the referee changed the decision to a red card, with Real Madrid down to 10 men.

Due to the red card, Mbappe was expected to miss Los Blancos’ next La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao.

However, reports from Spanish outlets confirm he could be banned for more matches as Spanish football authorities set out to investigate the tackle.

The report adds the red card decision will be reviewed and the number of matches Mbappe will miss could be extended to include the Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona if he is indicted of an intentional and malicious attempt to Injure his opponent.

Meanwhile, before the red card, Camavinga scored his first La Liga goal this season, firing Real Madrid into the lead in the 34th minute.

The goal was all Los Blancos needed to win the match and secure all three points.

They will face Arsenal in Champions League quarter-final second on Wednesday with Mbappe expected to return to action for the team in the match.

Los Blancos trail Arsenal by an outrageous 3-0 margin from the first leg and will hope to overturn the deficit in the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu.
