Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is set to leave Real Madrid this season, MySportDab reports.

Pressure has been piling up on the veteran manager following Real Madrid’s recent drop-off. Los Blancos stumbled lately in the La Liga title race under his watch, suffering a shock 2-1 home defeat to Valencia.

This result saw the team fell four points behind league leaders and challengers Barcelona. They also suffered back-to-back Champions League defeats against Arsenal in the quarter-finals to crash out of the competition.

For a team known for their winning tradition, it was pretty evident that Carlo Ancelotti’s days in the dugout are numbered.

Now, according to Sky Sports, the 65-year-old is expected to leave the club after the El-Clasico Copa Del Rey clash against Barcelona on April 26.

This means he will oversee the remaining La Liga matches in the ongoing 2024-25 season before leaving at the end of the season.

Amidst this report of his end-of-season exit, MySportDab understands he penned down a new two-year contract with the club last summer and was expected to continue till next season.

However, it is believed the club’s drastic downturn in fortunes lately must have necessitated the shock U-turn on the agreement.

Notably, despite the recent dry spell, Ancelotti has overseen one of Real Madrid’s best era. It is the second time he has been on the saddle as the club’s manager.

His trophy haul in this second spell include two Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, two Spanish  Super Cups, a FIFA Club World Cup, two La Liga titles, and a Copa Del Rey.
