Brazilian footballing sensation Neymar Jr sent the social media abuzz with a shocking video of his daughter’s birthday celebration, MySportDab reports.
The former PSG star suffered a heavy backlash for a sublime, but telling act, in one of his personal spaces while sharing the lovely family moment with his daughter Mavie and ex-partner Bianca.
In a viral clip that is making the rounds on social media, he could be seen multitasking – celebrating her daughter Mavie’s birthday and playing poker at the same time.
Holding Mavie, who has turned six months old, in one hand, the iconic footballer quickly went for his phone with the other hand and tap it apparently to wage on his poker game.
Mavies’ mother and his ex-partner, Bianca, joined the celebrations with the pair sharing footage of the lush family time on social media.
They were singing and relishing the moment when Neymar suddenly turned his attention to the poker game to place his bet before returning to the celebration.
A barrage of reactions has greeted the video which has since garnered close to 20 million views with floods of comments as of the time filing this report.
Fans seemed upended by Neymar’s careless attitude in the important moment with his daughter as he divides his attention from the cerebration to betting.
Others insist the super-rich footballer, who is among the highest-paid football athletes in the world, is struggling with poker addiction and may go broke after his career with Al-Hilal.
“This is cr*zy! You can divide your precious time for your daughter with betting,” a fan wrote.
“At this point, it is fair to say this guy is struggling with gambling addiction,” another fan wrote.
Another fan added, “it is clear Neymar doesn’t have much respect for the baby because is a female child. He cannot do this with his male child,” another fan said.
Save his heroic football career, Neymar admitted his innate love for poker game. He has been spotted on several occasions in Poker houses, betting a fortune, and has been even been made an ambassador to one of the poker brands.
In 2023, he reportedly lost a million euros while playing the game, sparking reactions from netizens on his prudence and gambling problems.
