The former Portland Trailblazers star was cordoned off from his residence by the police on Tuesday and was set to stand trial the next day in a swift move to have the case speedily adjudicated.

The warrant for the arrest of the basketball star came from prosecutors in Glacama County, Oregon.

According to the prosecution, Ben McLemore is being charged with sex-related offences ranging from rape (first-degree), unlawful sexual penetration (first-degree), and second-degree sexual abuse.

McLemore, 31, had a legendary basketball career after emerging as the seventh overall pick in the 2013 draft. He has played for the Lakers, Rockets, Grizzlies, and other top NBA outfits before exiting the NBA in 2022.

He is still active in the sport and is now plying his trade with a Spanish basketball team Rio Breoga.

McLemore began his NBA career with the Sacramento Kings after being picked in the 2013 draft

After a glowing start to life in the renowned sport with the Kings, he joined the Memphis Grizzlies in 2017 temporarily and before returning to the Sacramento Kings the next year.

In 2019, McLemore left the Sacramento Kings and joined the Houston Rockets. He played for two years for the team before taking his career to the Los Angeles Lakers, and then wrapping up his NBA career with a move to Portland Trailblazers.

In 2023 alone, McLemore had spells with Shandon Hi-Speed Kirin in China, and AEK Athens in Greece before moving to Rio Breogan in Spain.
