Chelsea fans have blasted Nicolas Jackson for a cringe performance in Chelsea’s FA Cup semifinal loss to Manchester City, MySportDab reports.

The Blues’ hopes of silverware this season finally came crashing, no thanks to a late goal by Bernardo Silva at Wembley.

The Mauricio Pochettino-led side showed a stronger performance, significant of a team that had much more time to prepare for the game than their opponents, who were called back to action just three days after the Champions League quarterfinal loss to Real Madrid.

The London outfit recorded the best chances of the game and had enough opportunity to close up a win but squandered them.

One of the most glaring misses that got Chelsea fans talking was Nicolas Jackson’s open-net miss from a sitter.

Enzo Fernandez had sent a through-ball to the 22-year-old. He overran Man City’s defenders, effectively beating the offside trap to close in on the box.

Spotting the danger, Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega came out but was perfectly rounded by the Senegalese.

After rounding Ortega, the former Villareal striker had only the ball and an open net to shoot but chose to find Palmer with a pass.

His pass was intercepted by Nathan Ake and the chance was squashed.

The miss has got tongues wagging with some Chelsea fans blasting the player for the incredible miss.

A fan wrote, “How did he miss that? It is incredible!.”

Another fan said, ”Jackson kept missing begging chances. Dude gotta up his game. It is getting out of hand.”

Another fan wrote, “This miss is too glaring. Why not shoot the ball instead of attempting a useless pass?”

Another fan added, “Jackson kept proving critics right that the club needs a better striker not one who can’t score a sitter.”

Nicolas Jackson has scored 13 goals for Chelsea this season but has been continuously subjected to criticism for his blunders in front goal.

The Senegalese hogged the headlines during Chelsea’s EFL Cup final loss to Liverpool for missing a clear chance.

Against the backdrop of criticisms, he will be hoping to step up his game as Chelsea pushes for a European slot in the few remaining fixtures for the season
