President Bola Tinubu has bestowed the esteemed national honor of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) upon each member of the Super Eagles, in recognition of their outstanding performance in the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), MySportDab Reports.

In a special ceremony held at the State House’s Council Chambers on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, President Tinubu extended this honor to Nigeria’s national football team, following their spirited display in the AFCON 2024 finals against Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite narrowly missing out on clinching the AFCON trophy, the Super Eagles’ remarkable effort did not go unnoticed.

In addition to the MON honor, the federal government, represented by Mr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced further appreciation for the team.

Each member of the Super Eagles will be awarded a plot of land and a flat in a location yet to be disclosed. This gesture serves as a testament to the government’s acknowledgment of the team’s dedication, hard work, and resilience throughout the AFCON campaign.

The honors and rewards bestowed upon the Super Eagles reflect the nation’s celebration of their efforts and contributions to Nigerian football on the international stage.

As details regarding the allocation of land and flats emerge, the football community eagerly awaits further updates on this remarkable recognition of the Super Eagles’ achievements.
