The Super Eagles of Nigeria beat South Africa 4-2 on penalties after playing a 1-1 draw to book the AFCON 2023 final, MySportDab reports.
The game was a cagey one which saw both teams scoring one penalty each to push the encounter into extra time after 90 minutes.
There was some debatable call as Victor Osimhen once again was denied a goal which could have killed things off.

The two nations came in prepared with a lot on their minds as they were looking to ensure they made their nation proud.
South Africa was well motivated coming into the match which saw them doing everything possible to get the early break but they failed.
Nigeria was organized well enough to withstand everything that was thrown at them while they put some attacking play together trying to score.
There was a lot that happened but nothing changed things as they headed for the break and came back into the second half for more action.
Nigeria broke the deadlock after a long play which saw a penalty awarded to them and William Troost Ekong came up and smashed it beating the goalkeeper for 1-0 in the 67th minute.
The game continued with South Africa pulling everything possible trying to make sure they get the equalizer which failed to happen between them.
There was a lot seen from both ends as the match moved on to the remaining minutes which saw Teboho Mokoena leveling things from the penalty spot 1-1 in the 90th minutes.
Both teams were forced into extra time which was another part of action that saw so much coming from them moving forward.
They finished the extra time with nothing else happening as the scoreline remained 1-1 between them while they entered for the break and prepared for penalties.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria made good as they came out success with a 4-2 win against South Africa from the penalty spot which saw only Ola Aina missing his spot kick as others scored.
