Manchester United are set to reach agreement with Newcastle United for Dan Ashworth as their new sporting director, MySportDab reports.

According to the Mail, United could reach an agreement with the Magpies for Ashworth as early as next week.

It is understood new Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who recently got his £1.3bn stake for 25% of Manchester United ratified by the Premier League, is behind the move for Dan Ashworth as the club’s new sporting director.

The INEOS Chief and UK Billionaire reportedly considers Ashsworth as a perfect hand for the job at Old Trafford and is keen on poaching the 52-year-old from the Tyne-based Premier League outfit.

Dan Ashworth recently joined Newcastle United in 2022 but has reportedly fallen out with the project at Newcastle.

Nevertheless, he is said to be in good relationship with the club’s but has been attracted by a more appealing project at United under the watch of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Sources close to the veteran football administrator reveals his relationship with the INEOS sports director Dave Brailsford has also played a big role in the move to bring him to Old Trafford.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing an official proposal to be sent to Newcastle for the services of Dan Ashworth with Newcastle United reportedly open to Ashsworth’s exit at the right offer.

Dan Ashworth will be a second high-ranking recruitment into Man United by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
