The young player comes in as another addition for Borussia Dortmund who have been busy in the market for new players.

Ian Maatsen completes his move from Chelsea which was made happen due to regular playing time as he wanted more which could happen in Germany.

Those at Borussia Dortmund wanted the move so badly knowing they needed more addition at the wing back position this season.

The move comes after Jadon Sancho made a return to the Black and Yellow which will see him play with them until end of the season.

Borussia Dortmund have now officially confirmed Ian Maatsen who is also unveiled as new player with the German club today.

Here Is What He Said:

“Borussia Dortmund made an intensive effort to sign me over.

“I’ve been following BVB and its fans for a long time and even went to the Champions League match in Manchester in autumn 2022 to see the team live on the pitch.”

“I’m very happy that the loan has now worked out.

“I promise that I will give my all for the team’s success and am really looking forward to the yellow wall.”

The move is expected to give him more playing time to enable him gather experience before returning to Chelsea end of the season.

There is no option to make the move permanent as both teams did not look into the dimension with Chelsea making it clear they are not looking to sell.

Ian Maatsen still remain part of the Premier League side plan as they did extend his contract before allowing leave on loan until end of the season.
