Manchester United averted a near-crisis at Old Trafford as they fought back to grab a comeback win over Aston Villa in the Premier League, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils have not lost at home on Boxing Day in the history of the club but a high-flying Unai Emery-led Villa nearly pulled an upset.

A shaky start from Manchester United saw the visitors raced into the lead early in the first half with two quickfire goals.

McGinn opened the scoring for the Villans in the 26th minute to pile up pressure on the home side, who have struggled with a series dismal results this season.

Five minutes after McGinn’s goal, a defensive blunder by Manchester United saw the away side edged close to a victory with a goal from a cornerkick.

Dendocker doubled the lead for the Aston-based club after he was left unmarked to poke home the ball home pass Andre Onana.

The home fans were already beginning to boo the team after conceding two cheap goals for another subpar display against Aston Villa.

It was another nightmare start for Manchester United as they did little to mount a comeback before the break after conceding two quick goals in five minutes.

Aston Villa took the 2-0 lead into the break with United players booed off the field as they made off the pitch for the break.

It was a different ball game in the second half as a charged Man United players clawed their way back into the game to mount a comeback.

Alejandro Garnacho was instrumental to Man United’s comeback. The Argentine youngster opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 59th minute to reduce the deficit.

In the 71st minute, he struck again to restore parity, pegging back the visitors to a 2-2 draw.

In the 82nd minute, Ramsus Holjund, who was waiting for his Premier League goal in 19 matches for the club, completed the turnaround with United’s third goal.

The match ended with United running out with a 3-2 comeback win to grab all three points.
