She is the youngest child of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and his ex-wife, Pilar Sanders. Her path through college basketball has closely tracked her father’s own coaching journey, from Jackson State to Colorado, before she found her own footing away from him at Alabama A&M.

Four programs and four years into her college career, she graduated from an HBCU in 2026 and is now playing for Colorado State University Pueblo.

Shelomi Sanders Biography

Shelomi Sanders

She was born on December 14, 2003, the youngest of three children from Deion Sanders’ marriage to Pilar Sanders, born Pilar Biggers.

Her parents married on May 21, 1999, in a ceremony in the Bahamas and had three children together: sons Shilo, born February 9, 2000, and Shedeur, born February 7, 2002, followed by Shelomi in 2003.

The family’s home life became the subject of an Oxygen reality series, Deion and Pilar: Prime Time Love, which ran for one season in 2008 and gave the public an early look at the Sanders household, including the children.

Shelomi Sanders grew up in Texas and attended Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall, where she developed into a standout guard, averaging 16 points, six rebounds, and three steals per game as a senior and earning first-team All-District honors in Texas’ District 10-6A.

She has continued her education through college, most recently completing her degree at Alabama A&M University in 2026.

Career

Shelomi Career

Shelomi Sanders committed to play college basketball at Jackson State in February 2022, joining the same campus where her father coached the football program and where her brothers Shedeur and Shilo already played.

She signed her letter of intent that April and played in two games for the Lady Tigers during the 2022-23 season before her father left Jackson State to become head coach at Colorado.

Sanders transferred with him, joining the Buffaloes as a walk-on guard in January 2023. Her playing time in Boulder remained limited across roughly a season and a half, as she appeared in five total games.

She entered the transfer portal in April 2024 and committed to Alabama A&M, an HBCU program under head coach Dawn Thornton, marking her return to the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

She played 26 games for the Bulldogs in 2024-25, scoring 31 total points, and 15 games in 2025-26, scoring 14 points across 92 minutes.

Her best individual performance came against Miles College that December, when she scored eight points and hit two three-pointers in 17 minutes.

She was named Alabama A&M’s Bulldog of the Week during her time there. In 2026, Sanders graduated from Alabama A&M, becoming the latest member of the Sanders family to earn a degree from an HBCU, following her father, who graduated from Talladega College in 2020, and her brother Shilo, who graduated from Jackson State in 2023.

As of April 2026, she is playing for Colorado State University Pueblo, an NCAA Division II program in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, continuing her college basketball career at a fifth stop.

Deion Sanders’ Daughter

Deion Sanders' Daughter

Deion Sanders is Shelomi Sanders’ father. He built one of the most decorated two-sport careers in American sports history, starring as a cornerback and return specialist in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington, and Baltimore Ravens after being drafted by the Falcons in 1989, while also playing outfield in Major League Baseball for the Yankees, Braves, Reds, and Giants.

He is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and remains the only athlete to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series.

After retiring, he founded Prime Prep Academy. He worked as an NFL Network analyst before returning to football as head coach at Jackson State in 2020 and then at Colorado starting in December 2022, where he currently coaches.

He has also managed serious health issues in recent years, including blood clots and the amputation of two toes.

Pilar Sanders

Pilar Sanders is Shelomi Sanders’s mother. She began modeling in her teens with agencies including Irene Marie and Ford Models before moving into acting, landing guest roles on shows such as Walker, Texas Ranger, The Jamie Foxx Show, Veronica’s Closet, and In Da House, the set where she met Deion Sanders in the mid-1990s.

She also appeared in the 1999 film The Mod Squad and produced the films Streets of Blood in 2009 and Percentage in 2014. After marrying Deion in 1999, Pilar’s public profile grew substantially through the couple’s Oxygen reality series and a later appearance on VH1’s Football Wives in 2010.

The marriage ended in a highly publicized and contentious divorce. Deion filed for divorce, citing infidelity, and by some accounts, Pilar first learned of the filing through media reports rather than directly from him.

The divorce was finalized on June 28, 2013, after 14 years of marriage, following a bitter custody battle in which Deion initially won primary custody of the three children, a ruling that was later overturned.

Deion was ordered to pay Pilar $10,500 a month in child support. In December 2014, Pilar was sentenced to seven days in custody for violating the custody agreement.

Since the divorce, Pilar has rebuilt her public identity around fitness, launching a wellness brand called Pilar Fit 4Life, alongside earlier philanthropic work she co-founded during the marriage, including Prime Time Achievers, a summer camp for children, and the Essence of Beshalom Foundation, aimed at building confidence in young girls.

She has remained a visible presence at her children’s games, including Shelomi’s. She has been linked romantically in the years since to NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in 2016 and later to J. Prince, the CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records, to whom she announced an engagement in 2019.

Shelomi Sanders’ Siblings

Shelomi has four siblings across her father’s two marriages. Deiondra Sanders is her older half-sister from Deion’s first marriage to Carolyn Chambers.

From his marriage to Pilar came Deion Sanders Jr., who works as a videographer for his father’s football programs; quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who played at Jackson State and Colorado before being drafted into the NFL by the Cleveland Browns; and safety Shilo Sanders, who played at Jackson State, South Carolina, and Colorado before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he was later waived in August 2025.

All three of Shelomi’s full siblings have played for their father at the college level at some point, a family dynamic Deion has jokingly referred to on social media as his own version of child support.

Shelomi Sanders Net Worth

Shelomi Sanders Net worth

There is no confirmed net worth figure for Shelomi Sanders. As a college athlete who has moved between multiple programs without a professional playing contract, any specific dollar figure attached to her name online is speculative.

Her father, Deion Sanders, net worth estimated to be $60m, built from his NFL and MLB careers, endorsement deals, broadcasting work, and his current Colorado coaching salary.
