Andre Onana has laid to rest speculations on whether he will join Cameroon national team for 2023 AFCON, MySportDab reports.

The Manchester United goalkeeper was back to Cameroon national team after he retired from the team in 2022.

Onana fell out with Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song during 2022 World Cup and had to exit the tournament prematurely.

He was flown home from Qatar before he announced his retirement days after the faceoff.

However, in a sharp twist of events, Onana was recalled back to Cameroon national team with reports he has settled his beef with Rigobert Song.

He was in action for the Indomitable Lions in AFCON Qualifiers match against Burundi and also keep the sticks for the team in international friendly against Senegal.

Cameroon have qualified for AFCON and there have been speculations whether Onana will join the Three Lions for the tournament.

According to inews, Andre Onana is ready to join Cameroon for the tournament when called up by Rigobert Song and is reportedly ready to commit on a long-term with the national team

The news will come as a major blow to Manchester United who will be left with Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton when Onana leaves for AFCON.

We reported earlier that Manchester United are exploring chances of re-signing David de Gea on a short-term contract to stand in for Andre Onana when the latter leaves for AFCON.

David de Gea left Manchester United unceremoniously after a legendary 12-year stint with the club as he could not agree on a new contract.

He is without club but it is still unclear whether he will accept the short-term offer by United to return to Old Trafford.
