Manchester City have maintained their 100% record in their Champions League campaign with a third successive group stage win, MySportDab reports.
The Premier League champions are on route to defend the title they win last season as they have made it three wins in their three group matches to top the group with nine maximum points after three games.
It was another sensational outing for the defending champions against Young Boys after a shaky start.
A dragging first half saw both sides settle for a barren draw with no side unable to break the goal deadlock.
Manchester City had a commanding control of proceedings of the game but could not make anything happen as the Swiss side made good their defensive display to deny the visitors.
However, early in the second half, Manchester City finally broke the goal deadlock with Manuel Akanji scoring three minutes into the second half to give City the lead.
Just four minutes after going in front, Young Boys mounted a formidable response and nailed home an equaliser with Ellia on the scoresheet for the home side.
City then ramped up attempts to take the lead again and were able to net their second goal and restore the lead in the 67th minutes thanks to Erling Haaland’s spotkick goal.
Manchester City continued top of their game, dominating proceedibgs, and mounting pressure despite leading 2-1 after the hour mark.
Young Boys were overwhelmed with multiple attempts and possession and they had no chance of mounting a response.
With four minutes left on the clock, Erling netted his brace to extend the lead and sealed the win.
The match ended with Manchester City running out with a 3-1 win to go top of the group with 9 points.
