Real Madrid have been held by Sevilla to a draw at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in a heated LaLiga clash, MySportDab reports.

Real Madrid started the game on a good note as they hoped to continue in their brilliant start to the season.

The Los Blancos went into the game with 24 points staying top of the Laliga table after 9 matches.

They were closely followed by Barcelona who sits third on the log with 21 points from 9 matches.

Sevilla went into the game, trapped in the bottom half of the Laliga and have sacked their Europa league winning manager during the international break following a poor run of results.

Both sides had a lot at stake going into the game but Sevilla needed to prove a point as they set out with a new hand at the dugout.

It was a fiery clash from start with both sides trying to get the better of the other.

The game was largely open from both ends with glaring and clear-cut chances missed by both sides.

Following a marathon of pressure and counter attacks, Real Madrid went ahead in the game but the goal was chalked out as offside.

Late in the second half, Sevilla took a surprise lead after David Alaba poked a cross from the right wing into his net to give the home side the lead.

Real Madrid then needed a set-piece to find their level and cancel out the lead as Carvajal delivered a brilliant header to brought the away side back into the game.

The two sides made attempts to take the lead again but it all ended squares as they could not add to the tally.

Real Madrid still sit top of the Laliga table with 25 points from 10 matches following the draw.
