FT: Portugal 3-2 Slovakia, Ronaldo Score BRACE! [VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS]

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace as Portugal continue in their perfect run in 2024 Euro qualifiers with a win over Slovakia, MySportDab reports.

The European giants looked set to come out with victory as they started on a good note against the visitors.

 

Led by former Belgium manager Roberto Martinez, it was another rollercoaster for Portugal who hoped to keep to their perfect run in the competition so far.

It was not long before the they took the lead against Slovakia early in the first half.

Goncalo Ramos starred for the side as he put them ahead just 18 minutes into the game.

Despite taking the lead, it was still the Portuguese dominating proceedings as they game went forward.

They mounted pressure and were looking set to land their second goal as Slovakia did less to restore comeback hopes.

Just before the half hour mark, Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead for the home side, converting a spotkick to make it 2-0.

Slovakia did little to mount a response as they went into the first half break trailing by two unreplied goals.

The secund half began in earnest after the break with Portugal still dominating play.

Slovakia, however, put up a better performance hut were still struggling to find their pace in the game.

In the 69th minute, Portugal conceded against the run of play to have their lead halved by the away side but Cristiano Ronaldo was able to restore the two-goal lead minutes.

Ronaldo scored again in the 72nd minute but Slovakia reduced the lead again in the 80th minutes with Lobotka’s goal.

With 19 minutes left to play, Portugal held on to run away with a 3-2 win after the final whistle to maintain their perfect run.
