Arsenal stumbled to a shock defeat to Champions League debutants Lens in France in their second Champions League match, MySportDab reports.

Match Report 

Arsenal started the game on the front foot as they hoped to continue with their winning start to their Champions League campaign.

The Gunners opened their Champions League campaign on a winning note demolishing Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven at Emirates.

Lens settled for a draw against Sevilla in Spain in the opening fixture and were hoping to pull through a brilliant performance against the Gunners.

Arsenal were the better side going forward as they dominated proceedings and made early attempts to find an opening goal.

After a marathon of pressure, Gabriel Jesus put the away side on the lead in the 14th minute to cap their dominant performance.

Lens mounted a great response immediately, pulling an equaliser in the 23rd minute thanks to Thomasson’s goal.

Arsenal made frantic efforts to retake the lead as they continued to dominate play going forward but could not make anything happen as both sides went into the break with a 1-1 draw.

Arsenal continued to dominate proceedings in the second half but were dealt a heavy blow early into the last half of the game as Wahi fired Lens into the lead to make it 2-1 for the home side.

After conceding against the run of play, Arsenal made frantic efforts to find a leveler and possibly pulled a comeback but it all ended in a nightmare as the home side pulled a solid defensive display to maintain the lead till the final whistle.
