Nigeria Super Eagles completed their AFCON Qualifiers with a 6-0 victory against Sao Tome and Principe, MySportDab reports.
Victor Osimhen was the man who lead the goal scoring with a hat trick for the encounter which saw others following up with more.
It was another match the Super Eagles had everything working their way and could now look forward to the tournament in 2024.
Match Report
The game was one which was solid from start which the away side did not also want to go down easy without any fight.
Nigeria were in dominant control which saw them pressing from kickoff but couldn’t make anything happen in the first 10 minutes.
Sao Tome were also not bad but they conceded the opening goal from a corner kick which made it 1-0 with Victor Osimhen making it count in the 13th minutes.
The game progressed with some wonderful play and also offside calls before Haruna Lookman scored in the 27th minutes from a solo effort to make it 2-0.
The two goals was the only seen action from the first half which made the scoreline 2-0 in favor of Nigeria as they headed for the break against Sao Tome.
There was a lot more in which happened in the second half that saw more football play coming from the two National teams.
It was the Super Eagles of Nigeria who had everything going on with more efforts being pushed to ensure more as Taiwo Awoniyi made it 3-0 in the 51st minutes.
Sao Tome conceded another goal in the 70th minutes from the penalty spot which was converted by Victor Osimhen to make it a brace and 4-0.
The Napoli man made it a hat trick in the 80th minutes of the game with a wonderful teamwork which him making things 5-0.
Samuel Chukwueze scored in the 86th minutes to end the match 6-0 in favor of the Super Eagles of Nigeria who finished their qualifying match with a huge one against Sao Tome and Principe.
