Chelsea have been held by Bournemouth in a thrilling Premier League clash as the Blues’ underwhelming start to the season continues, MySportDab reports.
It was a tight game between both sides as the two team’s struggle to get something out of the game.
Chelsea were coming more under pressure going into the game after managing only a win from the last four matches.
The London club opened their campaign with a draw against Liverpool before settling for a derby defeat to 10-man West Ham United.
They were however able to record their first victory after securing a win over new-ly promoted side Luton Town but ended their four match run with a defeat against Nottingham Forest before the international break.
Coming up against Bournemouth, Mauricio Pochettino was under pressure to deliver as the club look to make their heavy spending in the last three transfer windows count.
It was an engaging encounter between the two sides but the Blues had more control of proceedings going forward.
Both sides made frantic efforts to score but could not break the goal deadlock.
Despite playing second fiddle to the star-studded side, Bournemouth gave a good account of themselves matching Chelsea’s attacking drive.
They recorded 12 attempts with 4 on target despite having less than 50% of the possession.
Chelsea wielded over 60% of the ball possession and made 16 attempts with 6 target but could not make anything happen.
The game dragged on till the final minutes with both sides unable to find the back of the net.
Chelsea made late drastic efforts in stoppage-time, mounting more pressure to get a goal but Bournemouth were equal to the task as they held on to share spoils with the visitors after the final whistle.
Chelsea have now went without a win in four of their five Premier League starts to the season.
