Nigerian Striker Adams Makes Ligue 1 Switch To Montpellier

Ligue 1 organizers have extended a hearty welcome to Nigerian striker Akor Adams as he embarks on his journey in the French topflight with Montpellier, MySportDab reports.

The talented player, who recently made the switch from Norwegian club Lillestrom, has already left a mark on the field with his exceptional performance.

During his time with Lillestrom, Adams showcased his prowess by netting an impressive 15 goals in just 15 league appearances this season. This remarkable achievement further solidified his reputation as a rising star in the football world.

Ligue 1 took to Twitter to celebrate Adams’ arrival, sharing an image of the Montpellier new recruit alongside esteemed former Nigerian internationals like Austin Okocha, Taye Taiwo, Vincent Enyeama, and Serie A victor Victor Osimhen – all of whom have previously showcased their skills in the French football arena.

Akor Adams’ football journey began in August 2018 when he joined Norwegian outfit Sogndal, having honed his talents at the Jamba Football Academy in Nigeria.

Despite facing challenges like injuries, Adams continued to exhibit his dedication to the sport. His time with Sogndal yielded notable success, with Adams concluding the 2021 season with an impressive tally of 10 goals in 28 games.

In a significant career move, Adams signed a three-year contract with Lillestrøm on December 2, 2021.

He made an impactful debut, scoring against Nardo in a cup match and followed it up with another notable goal in a 2–2 draw against HamKam in his Eliteserien debut on April 2, 2022.

Now, with his arrival at Montpellier, the football world eagerly anticipates the contributions Akor Adams will make to Ligue 1.
