Spain ran riot 3-0 over Costa Rica in their opening game of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, MySportDab reports.
Esther Gonzalez scored among the goals in the match which saw the Spanish women making it count.
Alexia Putellas came into the game in the second half but couldn’t make much of an impact going forward.

The game started positively for both teams who had everything under control and wanted to make sure they scored an early goal.
It was a good start for Costa Rica going forward as they were able to hold on to a goalless scoreline in the first 20 minutes of the clash.
Spain took the lead in the 21st minutes of the match after an own-goal scored by Valeria Del Campo who gifted their opponent a 1-0 lead as the match carried on.
Another goal followed in immediately for the Spanish Women in the 23rd minutes which saw them scoring another one to make it 2-0 from Aitana Bonmati Conca.
Esther Gonzalez added another one in the 27th minutes which saw the game moving fast for the Costa Ricans women as they saw themselves 3-0 behind.
Jennifer Hermoso Fuentes missed another opportunity in the 34th minutes which saw her unable to score from the penalty spot as the scoreline remained 3-0.
The second half started with a lot coming from both teams who wanted to make sure they add something to the game.
For Spain it was already a done deal as they couldn’t do anything else against their opponent who continued to push for something.
The game couldn’t give Costa Rica anything to celebrate as they were pressured all through for the side on the lead going forward.
The encounter pushed on another nothing else could happen as Spain ended up claiming a 3-0 victory against Costa Rica after 90 minutes of football played.
