The Old Trafford club were intent on renewing David De Gea’s contract but on a condition of reducing his £375,000 weekly wage.

David De Gea will run out of his Manchester United this week and may likely leave the club as thing stand.

According to the Athletic, Manchester United have backed out of the plan to renew David De Gea’s contract.

The report adds David De Gea has signed the new contract offer despite being placed on a reduced wage offer and was ready to stay at the club.

After signing the new contract, Manchester United reportedly refuse to do their own part of the deal and have refused to sign the deal.

The newest development on De Gea’s contract situation means the Spaniard may likely leave the club this summer when his current contract will expire.

There have been reports linking Manchester United to Andre Onana of Inter Milan as a prime target and replacement for David De Gea.

Manchester United are vigorously pursuing a deal for Onana and are reportedly ready to launch a bid for the player this summer.

Andre Onana worked with Erik Ten Hag at Ajax and is reportedly eager for the move to happen while AC Milan are also ready to sell.

Meanwhile, the newest report on David De Gea contract situation means Andre Onana may likely become Manchester United first-choice goalkeeper should he move to the club this summer.

Manchester United are yet to sign a player in the transfer window with palpable fears among some United fans the club is making a headway due to the delayed takeover process that has hindered the availability of funds for transfer activities.
