Harry Kane scored as Tottenham defeated Brighton to stay put in the Premier League top four race, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

Tottenham started on a good note as the match kicked off as they hope to return to the top four.


Brighton were solid contesting for the ball but were forced to defend as the game started.

After dominating play, Tottenham opened the scoring early in the first half with Son Heung-Min giving them the lead.

Brighton attempted a response but were effectively contained by the hosts.

The game proceeded with both sides matching each other toe-to-toe with no absolute control of proceedings by the two sides.

Tottenham held on to their narrow 1-0 lead and made failed attempts to double the lead.

Brighton were equally dangerous upfront but could not break the goal deadlock until the 34th minute when Dunk scored the equaliser for the Seagulls.

The first half ended on a 1-1 draw.

Second Half Report

Both sides struggled to control proceedings as the second half kicked off.

Brighton held a slight dominance with more possession than Tottenham and were dangerous upfront trying to take the lead.


Tottenham fell back into their half despite playing in front of their home fans as the visitors dominated play.

The host waited to catch the visitors on counter and it paid off late in the 79th minute when Harry Kane scored against the run of play to give Tottenham the lead.

Brighton made a late attempt to equalise but Tottenham held on to win 2-1 after the final whistle.
