Three Premier League giants are eyeing a summer move for Chelsea’s out-of-favor midfielder Mateo Kovacic, MySportDab reports.

The Blues are eyeing a summer shake-up to downsize the over-bloated size of the Chelsea squad and cut wage spending.

Mateo Kovacic

Mateo Kovacic is among the list of players set to face the axe in the summer as Graham Potter insists on a summer overhaul.

A list of other players has been named to be axed in the summer overhaul.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is top on the list of players likely to be axed at the end of the season, including Chelsea’s Goalkeeper and Senegal international Edouard Mendy.

Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante may likely face the axe but there are signals progress in contract renewal talks, which has stalled, may buy the two players some time at Stamford Bridge.

As for Mateo Kovacic, his future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain after Todd Boehly splashed a whooping £566m in the transfer market targeting young talents.

Kovacic was named among Chelsea players that may be asked to leave at the end of the season.

Now, Transfer Live reports big Premier League clubs are bracing up to bid for the services of the former Real Madrid star.

The three clubs as revealed by Transfer Live are Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City.

As thing stands, Mateo Kovacic may likely become a player of any of the big three clubs mentioned if he ends up leaving the Blues next season.

Mateo Kovacic joined Chelsea as a Real Madrid loanee before his loan move was made permanent by the club.

His contract is due to expire in 2024 and we understand there are no concrete plans by the Blues to extend his contract.

Instead of allowing him to leave on a free transfer after next season, the Blues may likely cash in on the player at the end of this season with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool ready to make offers for the player.

It will be a double win for the Blues who will end up reducing the squad and also cashing in on the player.
