Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Manchester United bid has been confirmed, MySportDab reports.

Jim Ratcliffe, who has been a long-time supporter of Manchester United, had been on the pole position of those interested in taking over Manchester United.

The 70-old Oldham-born billionaire, had confessed to being a long-time admirer of the Old Trafford club, and had equally relished the prospects of taking over the club when the Glazers announced their decsion to sell the club.

As the clocks ticks to the February 17 “soft deadline” fixed by Raine Group to mob up offers of those interested in buying the club, Qatari interests in buying Manchester United surfaced.

Just at the nick of time, reports emerged that the old-rich gulf state have launched a mega £5bn bid to take over Manchester United.

The Qatari bid for Manchester United, which is pioneered by Sheikh Jassim – a member of the Qatari Royal Family and head of the Qatari Islamic Bank – is said to be the strongest bid for the Old Trafford club so far.

Meanwhile, nothing was heard of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who reportedly claimed to be a fan of the club since boyhood and had fancied the likelihood of assuming the reins as new Manchester United owner.

Now, according to The Athletic, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has launched his own bid for Manchester United, rivaling the Qatari bid for the club.

Although the amount tabled by Jim Ratcliffe is unknown, the Athletic confirms Sir Ratcliffe wants to being back “Manchester to Manchester United.”

According to reports, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is Britain’s richest man with an estimated worth of £10.9bn as at August last year.

However, he is miles below the worth of Sheikh Jassim, whose networth is estimated at £270bn.
