Olivier Giroud sends France to the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup after beating England 1-2, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A good one from both teams in the first-half made sure they gave a good account of themselves but only one side could benefit more from everything that happened.
France started well as the better of both teams who get to handle the ball very well doing all in their capabilities to ensure they score the opening goal of the game.
England were doing fine until Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni scored a stunner in the 17th minute of the encounter to make the scoreline 0-1 as it continued between them.
The Three Lions were left clueless as to what they could do to make a comeback which all proved abortive despite everything they put in together which all was for nothing.
The first half came to an end with France taking a 0-1 advantage into the break against England after 45 minutes of football which was played between them.
Second Half Report
The second half was more commanding coming from both teams who put in all their efforts to make sure they make something happen for themselves.
France resumed with the fight to keep their lead intact as it continued until the 54th minute which saw them conceding from the penalty spot through Harry Kane goal to make it 1-1.
England was looking better after the goal but it didn’t take long for their opponent to restore their advantage after a clinical goal from Olivier Giroud made it 1-2 in the 78th minute of the match.
Harry Kane had the opportunity of putting the Englishmen back in the game, but unfortunately, his penalty in the 84th minute was misplaced leaving things 1-2 as it continued.
The match closed up as the Blues held on to their advantage which saw the game ending with France claiming a 1-2 victory against England which sent them to the semifinals.
