First Half Report

The first half began with both sides dominating play and trying to find an early goal.

Saudi Arabia proved a formidable opposition and were able to stop Mexico from scoring throughout the first half.

It was a speedy game, as both teams launched attacks at every point of having a hand on the ball.

Mexico was more dominant and threatened with long balls through on the flanks throughout the game.

Saudi Arabia did not create a clear chance in the game but was able to contest for possession and counter the effort of the Mexicans.

Both failed to find the back of the net as the first half ended in a barren draw.

Second Half Report

It was not long before they finally broke the goal deadlock with just two minutes into the second half.

It was Martin on the score sheet as Mexico took a deserved 1-0 lead in the 47th minute to boost their hope of qualifying for the next round of the competition.

Five minutes later, Mexico recorded another goal to boost their chances with Chavez on the score sheet.

After going two goals up, Mexico still dominated the game and were looking for a third goal.

Surprisingly, Saudi Arabia put one back in the 90+5th minute to make it 2-1 in favor of Mexico as the game finally ended in a win for the Mexicans, who crashed out of the competition despite the win.
