Luis Diaz’s injury return date has been confirmed, MySportDab reports.

But he suffered a knee injury in the game and had to be withdrawn after lengthy treatment on the pitch.

Contrary to fears that the Colombian international may have suffered cruciate ligament damage, Luis Diaz’s knee will not require surgery.

A scan conducted on the injury by Liverpool medical team has confirmed the situation of the damage, not requiring surgery, Daily Mail reports.

However, it has been confirmed that Luis Diaz will not return to the pitch until after the World Cup.

Luis Diaz is also set to miss at least 10 Liverpool matches before returning from the injury, including this weekend’s Champions League clash against Rangers Glasgow and the weekend’s Premier League game against Manchester City.

After missing ten games as the Premier League pauses for the World Cup, it has been confirmed that Luis Diaz will return specifically when the Premier League returns on Boxing Day (December 26, 2022)

Since joining the Reds from Porto in January, Luis Diaz has been a critical part of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool squad.

He is the latest to join Liverpool’s injury list this season, including the likes of Alexander Arnold.
