They needed to at least secure a point from the game to boost their survival hopes in Serie A.

It was not to be as Inter Milan built on their last match against Barcelona to continue in their fine form.

Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as Inter dominated play.

Salernitana did not attempt a come-back as the host continued dominating possession and putting Salernitana’s defense under intense pressure.

Despite creating more chances that would have seen them double the lead, Salernitana held on and trailed by a lone goal at the end of the first half.

Second Half

Nothing really happened in the second half of the game.

The visitors have sat back in their defense and waited for counterattacks to get the equalizer.

Inter Milan, on the other hand, mounted more pressure as they looked to double their lead.

Their efforts paid off in the 58th minute, with Barella maneuvering through the Salernitana defense to double the lead.

Inter Milan still dominated play despise going two goals up against their visitors, who could only manage 38% of the ball possession with 8 minutes left to play.

Inter Milan were comfortable with the ball, without any pressure, and were looking for their third goal.

Salernitana made little effort on goals, losing every part of the game to their domineering host.

The game finally ended with Inter Milan grabbing their 6th Serie A win to move up to 7th position on the Serie A table.
