Arsenal and Bayern Munich will renew hostilities in a much-anticipated Champions League cracker today, MySportDab reports.

With managers who have a knack for attacking football, the clash promises to be a blockbuster showdown at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich preview

The most striking vignette of this fixture is the history the two clubs have shared in the elite club competition in Europe.

Bayern Munich, who have won the competition six times, have been Arsenal’s nightmare.

Before the Gunners’ seven-year absence, they have stumbled in their last three consecutive knockout meetings with the Bundesliga giants.

The star-studded Munich-based outfit knocked out the Gunners in 2013, 2014, and 2017 in the round of 16 of the competition, hence it will be more of a revenge mission for the Gunners as they locked horns with the Thomas Tuchel-led side.

Notably, the two teams will meet on the back of contrasting domestic fortunes. Arsenal are flying high on the domestic front, strongly battling for their first Premier League title in 20 years with a strong foot in the three-horse Premier League title race.

Conversely, Bayern Munich have endured a difficult domestic run this term, and have apparently conceded the Bundesliga title to Xabi Alonso’s unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen juggernaut, who are 16 points clear on the table.

Sadly, they will be taking on the Gunners with their fans stand empty due to UEFA sanctions in their last UCL match against Lazio.

From the foregoing, it is more likely the Bundesliga outfit will need not rely on the ghost of yesteryear’s triumph with the revamped Arsenal squad poised to rewrite the narrative despite a miserable record against German opponents.

Team News

Ahead of the game, Thomas Tuchel confirmed in prematch press conference the Bavarians have received an injury boosts. Manuel Neuer, Pavlovic, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman are all back to the squad but Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr are still sidelined.

England attacking sensation Harry Kane is expected to lead the attack with Luis Sane, Mathis De Ligt, and other first-team stars set to start.

Arsenal have fewer injury worries with only Jurrien Timber set to miss the clash. Gabriel Magalhaes picked up a knock against Brighton but was able to carry on through the 90 minutes. He is likely expected back to the defence against Bayern.

William Saliba, Ben White Oleksandr Zinchencko, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, and other first-team stars are available for the game.

Kickoff And Prediction

The match will be played by 9pm Nigerian time and will be streamed live by MySportDab. It is going to be a tricky tie but Arsenal are more likely to ace through with a 2-1 win.
