Bayern Munich took absolute dominance of the game, and turning wasteful on the front when charging forward was also their undoing.

Augsburg continues to pull their nerves together to withstand the massive pressure from their visitors. They depended on fruitless counterattacks.

The first was coming to an end with the game still standing on 0-0 as Bayern Munich failed to break the goal deadlock due to a resilient Augsburg defense.

The first half finally ended with both sides going into the break with a draw after a one-sided clash in which the Bavarians dominated proceedings.

Second Half

The second half began with equal tempo as Bayern increased the speed and pressure on Augsburg, all to no avail.

Augsburg were making headway in counterattacks as they exploited the opened and vulnerable flanks when the Bavarians charged forward.

It was Berisha in the 56th minute who made it happen as he struck to give Augsburg the surprise lead.

Bayern Munich made frantic efforts to find an equalizer firing blank and getting more frustrated in the box as the game neared its end.

They created a series of chances but were unable to convert them. More of their efforts were wasted due to excellent defending by the host.

Despite dominating the game and squandering so many chances,  a second-half goal by Berisha was enough to send Augsburgs to a surprising 1-0 victory.

The game finally ended with Julian Nagelsmann’s men suffering their first-season defeat.
