Paulo Dybala has joined AS Roma on a free transfer after the expiration of his Juventus contract, MySportDab reports.

Inter Milan has reportedly been on the trail of the player but were unable to smash up funds for the 28-year-old

Major football pundits anticipated the departure of Dybala after he failed to reach an agreement with Juventus.

The Old Ladies were reportedly eager to extend Dybala’s contract after his contract with the club expired.

However, they were not able to reach an agreement with Dybala, and a number of top clubs were reportedly interested in the player.

Inter Milan were one of the top clubs with a strong interest in Dybala.

The Italian giants attempted to end Alexis’ contract with a huge wage bill that affected the club.

MySportDab understands that part of Inter Milan’s reason for withdrawing from the Dybala race was a huge wage bill, especially that of Alexis Sanchez.

As Inter Withdrew from the race, Jose Mourinho quickly jumped on the opportunity to bring Dybala to Roma.

Napoli, who was also in the race, was beaten to the signing of the Argentian international by AS Roma.

Dybala is one the top scorers in Serie A with 98 goals in his entire 271 appearances both for Juventus and Palermo.

Dybala has signed a three-year contract with Roma, which will see him stay in the club till 2025.

His move to Roma has been attributed to the influence of Jose Mourinho, who was particularly keen on the player.

Dybala will now have a chance to move up the ladder of the all-time top-scorers chart in Serie A.
