Brighton’s left-back has pushed for a move to Man City by submitting a transfer request to Brighton, MySportDab reports.

Manchester City have reportedly tabled a £30m offer to Brighton to sign the player, but the offer was rejected.

After a £15m move to the Premier League side,  Cucurella has been one of the most outstanding Brighton players.

In the just-concluded 2021-2022 Premier League campaign, he has had an impressive season, winning Brighton’s player of the season.

Brighton had rejected Man City’s offer for the player as they have placed a £50m tag on the player.

Sources close to the club revealed that Brighton are not ready to sell Marc Cucurella despite interest from the Premier League Champions.

Manchester City have indicated a strong interest in the player, and the player is also trying to push for a move to Etihad, Sky Sports News reported.

It appears that Brighton will not budge at all in their estimated valuation of the player, and it is also unclear whether the Citizens will improve their bid for the player.

After joining the Seagulls from Getafe, the 24-year-old still has four years remaining in his contract with the club.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has refused to be drawn into questions concerning the latest position of the player.

According to Pep Guardiola, ‘ Marc Cucurella is still a Brighton player despite interest from Manchester City.’

Guardiola has also admitted that the Citizens want to sign a left-back while addressing the press ahead of Man City’s clash with Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Graham Potter, Brighton coach, has admitted that as long as Brighton respects the ambition of Cucurella, the 24-year-old must wait until agreement between the two clubs
