Jurrien Timber talks with Manchester United is officially opened and ongoing, MySportDab reports.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is strongly interested in bringing the player to Old Trafford ahead of the new season.
The move could be happening despite him still being tied with Ajax for two years more which he has to use on his current contract signed.
Talks are ongoing with both parties concerning an agreement which could see the English Premier League benefit from the deal.
The defender has been impressive with Ajax in the just concluded season which they won the Dutch League for another campaign.
He played a huge part in making it happen for the club where he has been over the past few years establishing himself.
Although Manchester United are not the only side who have shown interest on the defender who could be following Erik Ten Hag.
Other names like Frenkie de Jong who also played with Ajax before making a move to Barcelona after impressive Champions League run.
