Ruben Loftus Cheek and Mason Mount both scored as Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-0 to book the FA Cup final, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The Emirates FA Cup semi-final first leg started well with both teams doing enough going forward looking to make something happen.
Crystal Palace was solid in their defense which saw them putting up a wall the Blues couldn’t get through as it was more of passes but nothing at the end of it all.
Chelsea created more opportunities going forward no one connected to it as the game looked very hard for them as it continued with the Palace side doing so much work.
The home side for the match almost took the lead, but Edouard Mendy was quick as he pulled off a ground ball save before the referee signaled for offside which gave them breathing space.
The first half ended with Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace as both ended for a break without anything in the 45 minutes which was filled with wasted opportunities between them.
Second Half Report
A good start in the second half saw both teams coming out attacking each other with hopes of making something count as it was looking evenly matched.
Chelsea was dominated in their dealings going forward until Ruben Loftus Cheek smashed one inside the net giving them a 1-0 lead in the 65th minute.
More came from Crystal Palace who began to push forward for something of their own which proved very difficult as it was more of the home side for the match.
A good teamwork pass saw Timo Werner setting up Mason Mount whose first touch was perfect beating the defender and placing it at the last corner to make it 2-0 in the 76th minute.
That was the last action as the match ended with Chelsea 2-0 Crystal Palace which saw the Blues setting up another final against Liverpool this season.
