Man City played a goalless draw with Sporting Lisbon but made it through with an aggregate of 5-0, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Both teams had a fair share of the ball possession with few opportunities in the first half of the encounter which saw them going close on goal but nothing happened.
Man City started well giving the away team so much to work for in their defense as they pushed forward trying to open the goal scoring which didn’t happen.
Sporting Lisbon did well enough to hold their ground as they also did also find some good goal scoring opportunities which their finishing let them down on every occasion.
More opportunities with glorious misses saw them approached the half hour mark with the scoreline still barren between both of them.
The first half ended with Man City 0-0 Sporting Lisbon as they were unable to make anything happen for themselves going forward after 45 minutes of football between them.
Second Half Report
The second half was a good one for both teams who gave it all their best to make something happen after the first 45 minutes of nothing.
Man City carried on with their advantage from the 1st leg going forward knowing they have to concede six goals from their opponent to put them out.
It wasn’t happening for Sporting Lisbon who gave it all the best they have to offer, but still not even an offside goal more or less them getting close to hitting target.
Things quickly maneuver forward with still nothing to separate them in the second leg tie of the round of 16 UEFA Champions League encounter.
Nothing happened with the game finally ending with Man City 0-0 Sporting Lisbon which saw Manchester City making it through thanks to a 5-0 aggregate after 90 minutes of football from the first leg.
