Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez both scored as Uruguay thrashed Venezuela 4-1 in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half wasn’t stressful for the home side who made sure they gave nothing less than perfection.
It took Uruguay 1 minute to score the opening goal which came from Rodrigo Bentancur who finished off neatly to make the scoreline 1-0 as things was looking good.
Venezuela continued the game doing everything in their power in making sure they don’t go down again but Giorgian De Arrascaeta made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute of the match.
The encounter progressed into the final stages with Edinson Cavani making it 3-0 in the 45th minute plus additional time after good team play saw Giorgian De Arrascaeta making the assists.
The first half ended with Uruguay taking a clean 3-0 advantage against Venezuela as they both headed inside for the break after 45 minutes of football.
Second Half Report
Both teams saw so much coming from them but the home side were still finding a way to get more control of the match which was already going their way after first 45 minutes.
Venezuela were poor in getting anything done but managed to make attempts which didn’t cause any problems as their opponent that managed to keep their clean sheet going for the game.
Luis Suarez scored in the 53rd minute making things 4-0 after a foul was committed and penalty award and the Atletico Madrid man stepped out and finish off neatly for Uruguay.
The visitors pulled one back in the 56th minute through a goal scored by Josef Martinez which turned the scoreline 4-1 as they approached the final few minutes left to be played.
The match ended with Uruguay 4-1 Venezuela as the home side claimed victory and three points to boost their chances of making the FIFA World Cup for 2022.
