Manchester United’s Saturday Premier League match against Brighton has been officially postponed, MySportDab reports.

The match has been postponed due to the fact that the Red Devils are struggling to control their squad coronavirus outbreak.

United had to postpone their last match in the Premier League against Brentford on Tuesday night.

Since Monday, United have confirmed new positive coronavirus cases and some players were able to train this week.

However, due to the crisis the club are unable to pick a team for the match this weekend with only nine players available.

Manchester United have also announced that their training complex won’t be to reopen.

According to reports, United’s Carrington facility will remain closed until next week Tuesday earliest.

Manchester United released a statement a few minutes ago to confirm the situation.

The statement was posted on the Manchester United official website.

The Statement reads: “Manchester United can now announce that our Premier League match against Brighton scheduled for 18 December (Saturday) has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.”

Manchester United Vs Brighton is the fifth Premier League match to be called off due to outbreak of the Omicron variant at clubs and in the UK.

A Premier League statement today read: ‘Despite the number of clubs experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks, we have only one intention that is to continue its current fixture schedule in any way safe. The health of everyone remains our priority.’
